THE PASSION BEHIND OUR PRODUCT OFFERINGS: AN INTERVIEW WITH FOOD SERVICE & BAKERY DIRECTORY, KATHLEEN KRANTZ:
Tell us about your role with Lazy Acres.
“I work closely with my Food Service teams, to source the highest quality ingredients that are organic, seasonal and local to create food that not only tastes good, but makes you feel good, too. As a Mother of two young children, one of them with food allergies, it’s important for me to make it easy for everyone to find good quality food choices, no matter what dietary lifestyle someone follows.”
What makes Lazy Acres’ Food Service departments unique?
“Our Food Service department is unique because we make 80% of our products in our Kitchens, and exclusively use non-GMO Mary’s Poultry, Grass-Fed Wagyu meats and organic ingredients wherever possible. We have a large variety of “grab & go” meals that you can eat right away or take home to reheat -great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a snack! We want our food to be a convenient way for you to eat healthy, no matter your lifestyle.”
Can you share an accomplishment you are most proud of during your time with Lazy Acres?
“Each Lazy Acres store that I have helped plan and open has been a source of great pride for me. Additionally, I was proud to finish the USC Food Industry Management Program in 2020 for my academic and professional career, and am grateful for the tools it gave me for supporting the development of my Team Members. It reconfirmed my passion for our food industry and for the people in it.”
What is the first thing you do when you arrive to work in the morning?
“Make my coffee! I use organic coffee, collagen and adaptogenic mushrooms to give me the energy and focus I need to meet each task I face throughout the day.”
If you were stuck on a desert island and could only take 3 products from Lazy Acres, what would they be?
“Organic Coffee, The Cookie and our Grass-Fed Brisket!”
