THE PASSION BEHIND OUR PRODUCT OFFERINGS: AN INTERVIEW WITH BAKERY & FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR, KATHLEEN KRANTZ

What makes the Lazy Acres bakery unique?

“Our bakery is incredibly quality driven. Over the last few years, we’ve been super focused on our vegan offerings. 80% of our bakery is now organic and 25% is gluten free! It’s something we’re very proud of…and we’re baking from scratch!”

Tell us about your role with Lazy Acres.

“I work closely with my Bakery teams, to source the highest quality ingredients that are organic, seasonal and local to create food that not only tastes good, but makes you feel good, too. As a Mother of two young children, one of them with food allergies, it’s important for me to make it easy for everyone to find good quality food choices, no matter what dietary lifestyle someone follows.”

Can you share an accomplishment you are most proud of during your time with Lazy Acres?

“Each Lazy Acres store that I have helped plan and open has been a source of great pride for me. Additionally, I was proud to finish the USC Food Industry Management Program in 2020 for my academic and professional career, and am grateful for the tools it gave me for supporting the development of my Team Members. It reconfirmed my passion for our food industry and for the people in it.”

If you were stuck on a desert island and could only take 3 products from Lazy Acres, what would they be?

“The Cookie, organic coffee and our Grass-Fed Brisket!”
